Pärnu is Estonia’s favourite seaside resort, about two and a half hours north of Riga along the coast. Estonians call it their summer capital.
The beach is long, wide and shallow, so the water warms up early in summer and children can walk far out. Behind it stretch a beach park and the old spa buildings, including the Mud Baths from the 1920s.
The old town is small and easy to walk. A good plan for the day:
- the beach promenade;
- the Tallinn Gate, the only surviving town gate from the 17th century;
- Rüütli street, the pedestrian main street, with lunch or coffee.
On the way the driver can stop at the White Dune in Saulkrasti on the Latvian coast. The trip takes about seven hours and brings you back to your address in Riga.

How much does the Pärnu day trip cost?
Prices are per vehicle, not per person: Standard Car (Volvo V60 or Mercedes-Benz E-Class, 3 passengers) from €300, Standard Van (Opel Zafira Life, 7 passengers) from €350 and Premium Van (Mercedes-Benz V-Class, 6 passengers) from €500.
Where does the driver pick us up?
At the address you enter when booking - a hotel, an apartment or the airport - and you are brought back there unless you choose a different drop-off. If you are picked up at the airport, add your flight number and the driver follows your landing time.
How many people can travel?
Passengers per vehicle: Standard Car 3, Standard Van 7, Premium Van 6. Bigger groups book more than one vehicle - the booking form works out how many. For up to 19 passengers in one vehicle, ask for the Large Van (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter): its price is on request and it needs at least 3 days’ notice.
How do I pay?
Online by card when you book, through Stripe’s secure checkout. Companies can add their company name and VAT number for the invoice.
Do we need passports for Estonia?
Latvia and Estonia are in the Schengen area and there is usually no border check, but every passenger should carry a passport or ID card.
Why does the Pärnu trip include no Latvian VAT?
Trips that leave Latvia are international transport and are priced without Latvian VAT. The price is still fixed per vehicle.
